Course Description
Lesson Planning, Demonstrations & Student Engagement is a 3-hour teacher-related continuing education course designed for Illinois cosmetology teachers. The course strengthens an instructor's ability to organize effective lessons, develop measurable learning objectives, conduct clear technical demonstrations, connect theory with hands-on instruction and actively engage students throughout the learning process. Special emphasis is placed on cosmetology-school instruction, including theory classrooms, mannequin demonstrations, practical-floor education, technical skill development and student participation. Participants complete written instructional modules, interactive knowledge checks, required application and reflection activities, a final case study and a 20-question final examination.

Determine whether students have actually learned the lesson, and apply the full course to a realistic classroom situation.

Completion Requirements
- Complete all 18 required lessons in sequence, submit every knowledge check, reflection and application activity, complete the required final case study, pass the 20-question final examination with a score of 80% or higher, and submit the program and instructor evaluation.
Examination: 20 multiple-choice questions · 80% to pass · up to 3 attempts. Students who do not reach 80% should review the applicable course material before attempting the final examination again.
